Terms of Service

Last updated:

These terms apply to the Vistacast iPhone app, the Vistacast Receiver app for Fire TV, Google TV and Android TV, and this website. By using any of them, you agree to what follows. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

What Vistacast is

Vistacast is two apps that work together. One runs on your iPhone and sends your screen; the other runs on your TV and receives it. Both are required; neither does anything useful alone. They communicate directly over your local Wi-Fi network. There is no server in between, no account, and no login.

Your licence to use the apps

You may install and use the apps on devices you own or control, for personal or internal business use. This licence is personal to you and cannot be transferred or sublicensed.

You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the apps, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it despite this restriction. You may not remove or alter any proprietary notices, redistribute the apps, or use them to infringe anyone’s rights or break the law.

Purchases made through the App Store are additionally governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement. Where that agreement and these terms conflict on a matter it covers, Apple’s agreement prevails.

Free use and Vistacast Pro

The iPhone app is free to download and includes ten minutes of streaming per day. That allowance is cumulative across all sessions in a day and resets at local midnight. Vistacast Pro removes the limit and is offered as a lifetime unlock or as a monthly or annual subscription. The receiver app for your TV is free, with no purchases and no advertising.

All purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through StoreKit. We never see or handle your payment details.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your Apple ID account settings; cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves your current period intact. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s own policies, not by us. Please direct refund requests to Apple.

Prices may change. Any change to the price of an existing subscription will be notified to you in advance and will not take effect before your next renewal.

What Vistacast cannot do, and other honest limits

Some limits are inherent to the platforms rather than to our implementation, and you should know about them before you pay for anything.

Content protected by Apple’s FairPlay DRM (Netflix, Disney+ and similar services) cannot be mirrored. This is enforced by iOS itself; no third-party app can work around it. Locking your iPhone ends the broadcast, because iOS terminates the screen-recording extension. Audio plays on both the iPhone and the TV at the same time, and this cannot be changed from within the app. The receiver does not run on Samsung Tizen or LG webOS televisions.

Mirroring depends on your local network. Networks that isolate clients from one another, or that block multicast discovery, will prevent the apps from finding each other. That is a property of the network, not a defect in the apps.

Availability and changes

We may update, change, or discontinue the apps or any of their features. We will not knowingly remove a feature that a lifetime purchase was specifically sold for. If we discontinue the service entirely, we will say so on this site.

Your content

We claim no rights over whatever you mirror. Your content is yours, it passes directly from your iPhone to your TV, and we never see it, store it, or transmit it on your behalf.

Disclaimers

The apps are provided as they are, without warranties of any kind beyond those that cannot be excluded by law. We do not warrant that mirroring will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that the apps will be compatible with every television, network, or configuration.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law in your country, including statutory warranty and withdrawal rights. If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, those rights apply in addition to these terms and take precedence where they conflict.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, and except where liability cannot be excluded (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, and for anything else that applicable law does not allow to be limited), our total liability arising out of your use of the apps is limited to the amount you paid for them in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Ending these terms

You may stop using the apps at any time by uninstalling them. We may suspend or end your licence if you materially breach these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Argentine Republic, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts where the law gives you that right.
